Closed Circuit Cooling Towers

About the System

Closed circuit cooling towers use a sealed heat exchanger within the tower to isolate the cooling fluid from the air and water used in the evaporative cooling process.

The cooling fluid flows through the inside of a coil-type heat exchanger, while water and air pass over the outer surface of the coil. Heat is removed from the process fluid through evaporation on the coil’s exterior, ensuring the internal fluid remains uncontaminated.

This design is ideal for applications where:

  • Alternative fluids to water must be cooled
  • System cleanliness and fluid integrity are critical

Closed circuit cooling towers – supplied and installed for long-term performance in industrial and commercial environments.

DHD Cooling supplies and installs closed circuit cooling towers for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. These systems are ideal where cooling fluids need to be kept free from external contaminants, or where alternative fluids to water are required.

We take a tailored approach to every project, focusing on delivering the right system to efficiently remove process-generated heat. From initial site visits and system design to installation, maintenance and refurbishment, our experienced team manages the entire process to ensure long-term performance and reliability.

Closed vs Open Circuit Cooling Towers

Isolated Cooling Circuit:

The process fluid is fully contained within a closed coil, protecting it from external contamination.

Fluid Flexibility:

Suitable for maintaining a contamination-free loop or cooling alternative fluids within the coil.

Cooling Efficiency:

Both open and closed systems use evaporative cooling, a highly effective method that achieves lower fluid temperatures than dry (air-cooled) systems.

Cost Efficiency:

Integrating the heat exchanger and circulation pumps within the tower footprint offers a compact, cost-effective solution, typically more economical than assembling these components separately.
